Bella's Portfolio

Wednesday: 4/1/15
Have you completely finished and submitted all of your Works Cited and Notes pages?
Is your product/presentation turned in or posted? (YES or NO. If not, why not AND what do you need to do?)
What was the most challenging part of this research project?
The most challenging part of our project was writing about a time in her life that we haven't experienced. Halle and I did not have any prior knowledge on getting married, so we had to use a lot of sources and our parents. Easy Bib was also very frustrating at times.
What was your most enjoyable/interesting part of this research project?
The most enjoyable part about this project was researching her. Before this project, whenever we heard about Princess Diana we didn't really know who she was, but after this project we will be able to continue conversations.
Did you manage your time well for this project? Explain.
Yes, because Halle came over to my house to work on the project so we wouldn't have to be nervous about cramming our work into a few days, and having a poor diary.
Do you feel you exceeded, met or fell below the objectives for this project?
I feel that we exceeded the objectives because we had 10 journal entries and we only needed to have 5. Our entries were also a good length, not too short.

Friday: 2/27/15
We worked on the independent project today.

Current Events Activity:
1. What methods does Abu Sarah use that allow him to talk to people on both sides of the issue?
Abu Sarah uses a method that allows him to make connection to the people of each side. He doesn't do anything that would make the side he is talking to feel offended or that he is on the other side's team. He acts neutral to get information about the conflict.
2. Describe the conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians as described in the video.
The conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians is that they both want the same piece of land. They both feel like their families grew up there, so they both want to stay there. Neither of them will budge or move.
3. What are you learning today?
We are learning about the Israelis and the Palestinians conflict about where they live. They both feel like they belong to the land, therefore nobody will move.
4. Why is it important?
It is important because we need to learn about our world to be a part of it. If we have no idea what is happening around us, we really have no idea how the world functions.

My Map of Jerusalem
Bella's Map of Jerusalem
Reflection: I learned how to make my own map on Google Maps. I also learned a lot about Jerusalem. I learned how it was divided into four quarters, and what each quarter believed in. I also learned about attractions in each quarter.

Characteristics of Civilization
Reflection: I learned how to use Illustrator better and I was able to persevere through tough times on the computer.
